Specialising in hotel cost consulting, Roelof van der Westhuizen, is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of EQUATE, a prominent and proudly African quantity surveying firm who has successfully left its footprint in over 12 countries across the African continent. With an extensive professional track record, Roelof has gained 19 years of industry related expertise in a comprehensive range of services, including feasibility studies, contract administration and cost management, by sufficiently executing various projects across all property development sectors. Roelof is not only professionally registered with the South African Council for Quantity Surveyors but is also a qualified assessor for the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and extends his capability as an accredited professional with the Green Building Council of South Africa. He has contributed his expertise to major developments, such as the London 2012 Olympic venues, where he played a crucial role in the drafting of the ODA procurement code. Currently he is spearheading the EQUATE Africa division with 23 active opportunities throughout various construction sectors spread across Africa.
