Thomas Seghezzi has gathered more than 30 years of professional experience in private business, NGOs and Government, both abroad and in Switzerland. After graduating in business administration at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), he started his career in Marketing- and Human Resources posts in industry and services companies in Switzerland. He then engaged during six years in humanitarian work for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Between 2000 and 2004, he held the post of Senior Manager Human Resources with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). In 2005, Thomas joined the South African Embassy in Switzerland, heading its Trade and Investment promotion unit, promoting business between Switzerland and the Southern African region. In 2008 he co-founded rainbow unlimited gmbh, a Swiss-based company specialised in facilitating business links between Switzerland and Africa, namely by organising major business events (AFRICA CEO FORUM, Africa Business Day Switzerland) and managing the Swiss-African Business Circle (association of 90 Swiss companies and organisations). Since 2013, and in its role as business development partner for a renowned Swiss hospitality education institute, the company has been focussing on human capital development in the hospitality sector in Africa. In 2017, rainbow unlimited was a co-founder of the Swiss Alpine Hospitality Education Group (SAHEG), a group of four companies focussing on the setting up and running of Swiss hospitality schools in Africa.
